Navigating Transitions
About
At nineteen, a personal crisis led me into a one-year residential program, sparking a lifelong journey of holistic healing. This foundation fostered a more intentional life, grounded in the humility of being a "perpetual beginner." This experience defined my vocation; I began as a recovery coach and have spent nearly thirty years walking alongside others in their healing. I’ve learned that we grow best together, and journeying with others is essential to my own continued becoming.
My wife and I met in that same residential program and have now been together for nearly three decades. Having raised five children, we’ve navigated the vast spectrum of celebration and loss, learning to pilot our lives through both calm and turbulent seas. I am deeply grateful for those who have walked with me through life’s hardest questions, and I am honored to join others on their unique paths toward wholeness.
Clinical Approach
In our sessions, you can expect a balance of genuine human connection and practical interventions. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping us accept the reality of ‘what is’ while taking intentional steps toward what can be changed. For couples, I lean heavily into the Gottman Method, providing evidence-based practices to heal brokenness in communication and rebuild shared meaning.
Therapy with me isn't about sitting in silence; it’s collaborative and active. We look at the "blueprints" of your life—your habits, your relationships, and your internal dialogue—to see what’s serving you and what needs a new way forward. When we stop trying to "fix" ourselves and start living according to our deepest values, the way before us begins to open up again.

Who I Work With
I work with people who feel like they’ve lost their sense of direction. I oƯer space to explore life’s changes with curiosity rather than fear, helping clients to reconnect with their values and move toward a clearer, more authentic sense of purpose. I work with couples who want to be authentically themselves, but also have a deep, encouraging connection with one another.
Outside the Office
I am a father of five and a husband, and my family is the heartbeat of my life. We love to travel the world together and realize the world is bigger than our own limited experiences. In my free time I love to lead contemplative retreats, oƯer spiritual direction, and serve as an adjunct professor teaching spiritual formation. The contemplative, reflective life is a major part of my own journey. I believe this life is a fascinating place where we have the opportunity to become who we truly are.
Training & Background
My training started in the 'school of life'—specifically, an intensive, year-long growth journey at a residential recovery center in the hills of New Hampshire. From there I focused on the philosophy and practices of spiritual growth, completing a Master of Divinity and then a Doctor of Ministry degree in Spiritual Direction from Fuller Seminary. To complement this, I completed an MSW in clinical social work through the University of Michigan where I learned ever more about the intricacies of mental health and practices that have proven most eƯective toward healing. These are the same practices I continue to apply to my own life.
